Installation and compatibility

Before ordering, check the operating frequency range, antenna gain, connector type, mounting thread or bracket, cable type and required cable length. Antenna height, cable loss and separation from other transmitting antennas can materially affect the finished installation, so these points should be matched to the vessel and radio system.

Antenna performance depends on the complete installation, not only the antenna or mount. Cable condition, connector termination, the mounting arrangement where applicable, antenna separation and physical location should be checked as part of the installation.

Ordering and support

When requesting a compatibility check, provide the model and part number from the existing equipment together with photographs of labels, connectors and the surrounding installation where possible. This is particularly useful on older or discontinued marine electronics where several hardware revisions may share a similar product name. F&C Marine can use that information to help identify the correct replacement, accessory or installation approach.

For AV300 supply or replacement enquiries, confirm the exact model or part reference against the equipment already installed.
