Description
Comar R450-XG Network AIS Receiver with GPS, Ethernet & Wi-Fi

Overview
The R450-XG is the GPS-enabled flagship of Comar’s R450-X series, designed for robust, real-time
AIS data distribution across modern IP networks. It combines dual-channel AIS reception with
integrated GPS timing, providing highly accurate AIS message timestamps that are critical for
port authorities, coastal monitoring systems, VTS centres and
advanced tracking networks.
Built as the official successor to the R400NXG, the R450-XG delivers substantial upgrades,
including built-in Wi-Fi, improved RF sensitivity, a stronger and more secure network stack, and a compact,
rugged ABS enclosure with carbon-reinforced connector panels. These enhancements make it ideal for 24/7
deployment in demanding commercial, governmental and research environments.
With both Ethernet and Wi-Fi on board, the R450-XG streams AIS and GPS data to
PCs, servers and mobile devices over local LANs or the internet. It can be used for single-site monitoring,
feeding AIS data into centralised servers, or as part of a distributed coastal AIS network.
Key Features
- Dual-channel AIS reception (AIS1 + AIS2) with high-sensitivity RF front-end
- Integrated GPS receiver for precise AIS message timestamps & positioning
- Ethernet (RJ45) for high-reliability NMEA over IP data delivery
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for wireless configuration and AIS/GPS streaming
