Description
Cristec YPO-DISPLAY-R remote charger display
Cristec YPO-DISPLAY-R is a remote display accessory for compatible Cristec YPOWER charging installations. A remote panel can make charger information easier to monitor from the wheelhouse, accommodation or electrical-control position, but it needs to be matched to the correct charger and installed with the appropriate connection. F&C Marine can help confirm compatibility with the existing Cristec equipment before supply.
Compatibility with the charger
Before ordering a remote display, record the exact model and serial information of the charger it will be connected to. Similar charger families can use different displays, communication arrangements or software generations, so appearance alone is not enough to prove compatibility. Photograph the charger’s label and any existing remote-control connection. If replacing a previous display, retain the old model number and cable information. This allows the complete display-to-charger arrangement to be checked before the installation is disturbed.
Choosing the display location
The remote display should be mounted where it is easy to read and operate while remaining protected from water, heat and physical damage. Consider viewing angle, panel thickness, cable entry and service access before making a cut-out. On a vessel, a convenient viewing position can still be unsuitable if the cable route crosses wet or high-temperature areas. Measure the route before ordering any optional extension or connection cable and allow enough slack for the display to be removed for service.
Cabling and communication
Use the connection method specified by Cristec and protect the cable from sharp edges, crushing and unnecessary interference. Avoid unapproved splices in communication leads. Where the cable passes through a panel or bulkhead, protect the penetration and support the lead so connector weight is not carried by the socket. If an existing remote display is intermittent, inspect the cable and plugs before replacing the panel, as a damaged lead can produce the same symptoms as a failed display.
Commissioning the remote display
After installation, confirm that the display powers or communicates as intended and shows information consistent with the charger. Check any available controls or settings and make sure that changes made at the remote panel are reflected correctly by the charging system. If the charger itself has local indicators, compare them with the remote information. Resolve communication alarms or inconsistent readings before handover and record the display model, cable route and connected charger for future service.
Fault finding
A blank remote display does not automatically mean that the panel has failed. Check that the charger is powered and operating, inspect the communication cable and connectors, and confirm that the correct remote port is being used. If possible, test at the charger end to separate a cable fault from a display fault. Intermittent problems may be caused by vibration, damaged plugs or moisture in an exposed connection. Recording when the fault occurs can help identify the underlying cause.
Documentation and related support
For current manufacturer information, see Cristec battery chargers and accessories. Use the relevant Cristec charger and display documentation as the final reference for compatibility, connection and mounting. Before ordering Cristec YPO-DISPLAY-R
Send the exact Cristec charger model, photographs of its label and remote-display connection, the existing display model if one is fitted, and the approximate cable route to the proposed panel location. If the display is required because of a fault, include the symptoms and tests already completed. F&C Marine can then help confirm whether Cristec YPO-DISPLAY-R is compatible and identify any connection or installation parts required.
