This is the flagship VHF antenna designed and built by AEP.  Because of its design the antenna is capable of covering a wide frequency bandwidth, ranging from 144 Mhz to 163 Mhz.  Therefore it covers the entire VHF frequency band including the channels needed for Class A and B AIS Transponders.

Installation and compatibility

Before ordering, check the operating frequency range, antenna gain, connector type, mounting thread or bracket, cable type and required cable length. Antenna height, cable loss and separation from other transmitting antennas can materially affect the finished installation, so these points should be matched to the vessel and radio system.

Antenna performance depends on the complete installation, not only the antenna or mount. Cable condition, connector termination, the mounting arrangement where applicable, antenna separation and physical location should be checked as part of the installation.
