SAILOR SE406-II

SAILOR SE406-II Satellite 406MHz Epirb incl. manualbracket

The SAILOR SE-II and SGE-II Satellite EPIRBs (Emergency Positioning Indicating Radio Beacon) from Cobham Satcom  are satellite distress beacons that have been designed to operate in conjunction with the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite search and rescue system.

Cobham EPRIB models SE-II and the SGE-II are identical except for the GPS built into the the SGE-II, this improves the accuracy of the position transmitted to shore when activated.

The EPIRBs are supplied with either a manual release bracket or with an automatic hydrostatic release bracket, which will automatically release the EPIRB in situation where the vessel is sinking.

This system locates beacons transmitting on the 406MHz frequency to within 5km (3nm). Once Search And Rescue (SAR) units are at the distress scene the beacon’s 121.5MHz homing transmitter and it’s high intensity xenon strobe light aids the final location even in poor visibility.
